HGS WAV Recorder X is a VST Plugin which adds advanced features to the freeware HGS WAV Recorder. The main new feature is the ability to do multiple simultaneous recordings throughout the host, either when record is enabled or a second mode allows it to only record whilst the host is in playback mode. A usage example is that you could put a recorder on insert strips of multiple channels, start playback and record each track to a seperate WAV which would all be synchronised. This is ideal for recording many tracks in a project simultaneously and in realtime, ready to import into a different sequencer.

This is the entire collection of Homegrown Sample CDs in downloadable format. Buying this product saves half the price of buying all titles individually! It is the equivelent of buying both 'Homegrown Loop Collection' and 'Homegrown Atmospheric Collection.' It includes the following 14 sample CD/DVD titles which amounts to over 9.5gb of samples:

The natural sounding Microtonal Piano has been complemented by a couple of bonus instruments. A second sample set from the Steinway B has been added which was recorded at a harder velocity than the original Piano. The harder attack results in a much brighter sound and as a result has a very different character. It has all the same features as Homegrown Piano but comes as a seperate instrument called Piano B. Patches are interchangeable between the two instruments.

Also included as a second bonus instrument is Homegrown Rhodes which uses samples from a well worn Rhodes Piano and has one sample per key. The Rhodes had a long history on a cruise ship and was rumored to have been played by Duke Ellington. Some of the keys are in bad condition and the idea was to capture the instrument as is, rather than creating a realistic Rhodes emulation. It has all the same feautures as the other Pianos but with the addition of adjustable key noises.

Homegrown Piano Info

Many of the Homegrown Products have been updated, the updated synths are Orgone, Bion (Preview), FX, Bionic, and Homegrown Piano. Additionally the Microtonal Patches have now been updated to v3.1. Here is a list of changes:

Homegrown Piano is based around 88 samples of a Steinway B Grand Piano which were recorded at medium velocity. It was developed like many other HGSounds products to be great for Ambient/Atmospheric music, though is useful as a standard Piano as can be heard with the Classical demos on the website. The 128 presets cover a diverse range of sounds from Standard, Honky Tonk, Bright, as well as many echo landscapes, high resonance/distorted, and synthetic instruments. Though it is primarily designed as a Piano, it is still a synthesizer at heart and as a result has plenty of experimental potential.

Baby Bion is lightweight Synth using the Oscillator from the forthcoming Astralis Bion. It was designed primarily with SoundScaper in mind, the free FX plugin from hgsounds which can create Complex Undulating Collages. Baby Bion adds a Synth to create the Sound Source, as well as Flanger/Filter, a complex LFO and a couple of 32 stage Envelopes. Although it specializes in Soundscapes and Atmospheres, it can also be used as a general Lightweight Synth, the uniquely developed Dual Oscillator provides over 3500 different waveforms which can be mixed in many flexible ways including FM.

The manuals are now in the process of being converted to Interactive Flash Walkthroughs for all Synths. They are also included in the synths install folder, so if you double click the manual it will open in Flash on your machine.

This update primarily addresses issues when used on Multi-Core machines where Multi-Core is enabled in the host. Also an Interactive Flash manual has been added for easily finding relevant help. Here is a list of the main changes:

Astralis FX is based on the Effects of the the Astralis Range of Synthesizers and offers a world of possibilities of Sound Transformation, ranging from Lush Pads to Industrial Destruction. The FX in Astralis Synths play a large part in shaping their sound, the idea with FX is that the same can be applied to any Live sound source sent through the plugin such as drumloops or Guitars etc.. It also includes a Modulation Sequencer and Programmable Gapper for creating Tempo Based Rhythm effects. It can be used as an insert or Send and the Effects can be used in 127 different possible Routings.

This small update fixes an issue where the Recorder could cause an Access Violation error in some Hosts after it is removed from the project.

• Record to WAV added - Wavs will be recorded to a folder called Synth Recordings located in your HGSounds folder (chosen when installing the samples)
• Choice of 16/24/32/32bit float bit depths.
• Open Samples Folder Button
• Open Last Recorded Sample in System WAV player.
• WAVS are auto-named by Synth Name, and then System Timestamp.
• Fixed a bug where Pitch Bend setting would not update on already playing notes.
• Fixed a bug where Microtuner Patch and Info would not load correctly in some situations.
• Enabled an ON/OFF for the polyphony control as this replaces the note stealing rules.
• Polyphony Mode automatically disabled in Mono Mode for the above reason.
• Fixed a small bug where occasionally an incorrect Bank was displayed.
• Samples in different folders can now have the same name and should be located correctly when patches are recalled.
• Added a disable WAV Display Button to Info Section, as one user experienced crashes related to this module.
• Other Minor Fixes.
